Port Ludlow Marina

Port Ludlow is a great place to live if you like to watch or mess around with boats.

The Port Ludlow Marina is situated inside Port Ludlow Bay, in a nice protected sunny place with a breathtaking view of the Olympic Mountains towering over the back of the bay. For many boaters, Port Ludlow is their destination. Those people lucky enough to have Port Ludlow homes get enjoy this view every day of the year.

The Port Ludlow Marina has over 300 slips ranging from 20' to 50' plus about 200 feet of side ties for larger boats. See the marina website for moorage rates. The developer is planning to expand the marina by adding docks, but the size of the addition has not been determined yet. An educated guess is that it will increase the marina's capacity by approximately 25%. Information on the Port Ludlow Marina expansion plan is available from the Port Ludlow page on the Jefferson County website (you'll need to scroll down to see it).

Slips on two of the docks are reserved for transient guests, the remainder are behind a locked gate for either monthly or annual moorage.

The docks in the Port Ludlow marina are clean and well maintained. They are concrete and wood. The cleats are metal. Self-rescue ladders are abundant. 30 amp and 50 amp shore power is available. There is an ample supply of fresh water and hookups.

Marina facilities include a fuel dock, a pump out, a store, and clean bathrooms with showers. Kayak, skiffs, and bicycles may be rented by residents or visitors. If you take a ride on one of Kenmore Air's float planes, they will pick you up at the fuel dock.

The Port Ludlow Marina is a good place to hold a party. There are two areas which can be rented on a first-come, first serve basis by residents or visitors.

  • The Tom Poplin (check spelling on this) shelter and the adjoining area with a fire pit is available to rent for the afternoon or evening for $15 (marina tenant's price). The shelter is covered and contains a couple picnic tables. The fire pit area is open and includes a few more picnic tables. Both the shelter and the fire pit area also have bench seating.
  • A large tented area with a concrete slab floor holds a couple dozen picnic tables, has room for live entertainment & dancing, and rents to Port Ludlow marina tenants for $200.

Visitors may also rent marina facilities but they do not receive the Port Ludlow resident discount. note: is discount for marina tenants only or for all PL residents?
